This is a separate publication covering a different period. Its records are shown side by side and are never added to the figures above.

These services cover closed calendar years 2002-2019 only and are a historical, finalized dataset. Massachusetts data from 2021 onward is published through separate preliminary open-data services and is handled by a separate Call It Report connector; the two periods are never combined into one series. Each year is a separate service, so imports are year by year. Participant age columns published by MassDOT are never requested or stored.

MassDOT publishes these records as preliminary: they are refreshed nightly and are explicitly "subject to change at any time and are not to be considered up-to-date or complete". Counts for a recent period will change as reports are processed, so they are never presented as final. Each calendar year is a separate service (2021 onward), so imports run year by year. The companion vehicle and person layers are never queried, and the participant age columns published on the crash layer are refused at ingestion.

Counts are of crash records published by the source agency for the stated period. They are not a complete census of all collisions, and a higher record count does not by itself establish that a location is more dangerous than another.
